The year 2014 went pretty well for us, although we had to take a few hits on the german side of things, so a number or our projects had to rest on the backburner. Here's a report and cautious preview for the coming year.
Thanks to your support we managed to release the Equinox Setting Guide last August. The Match System Guide is in its final stages, slated for release on December 21st. As with the Setting Guide, the Match System Guide PDF will be an early release. Artwork is the only thing needed to complete the book for a print release, so the PDF comes at a healthy discount to gather support in a similar way we did with the Setting Guide. With the rules being the most important part of this book, those who want to start adventuring in the Equinox Universe will be able to do so right away! Until all artwork is finalized (expected in Q2/2015), we will use the time to collect more feedback and fix any errors spotted in the meantime. The PDF will be updated accordingly, giving you the chance to follow the art design from sketch to final!
We have a number of additional releases for Equinox planned, including a campaign book, a set of story-oriented rules (ideal for beginners and convention games), as well as a few smaller "adventure packs". No more details on those at this stage, except that they're in the works and hopefully see a release.
Other Games and Translations
All other games and supplements we had planned to release were set back, but are still on the radar. We hope to get some more time dedicated to these in 2015, but can't promise anything. On the bright side, we have licensed a number of games for a spanish translation, and are glad people are still interested in these!
While we're far away from having an actual booth, we do have a small GenCon presence. Jason Wallace is going to run a few games for you in the Games on Demand area, so make sure to hook up with him to get a peek and a taste of our future releases!

After yesterdays excursion to dreamland, here's a small update from the EX development desk:
We've commissioned a dozen additional illustrations for the Setting Guide, which is slowly coming together at the moment in layout. The cover art is almost done, David is still wasting some of his sanity on the smaller details.
The final chapters of the Match System Guide are still under scrutiny by Jason, and need a few bits of additional writing before we can complete them. The beta version isn't that far off actually, its basically just those last ten percent that require more concentration than the rest. Many thanks to our team member Mikko, who has been proofreading and commenting pretty much everything in the past few monts while traveling the far east (and sending photos from a lot of vagrant-ish places)!
The german translation has now shifted towards the rules parts. We finished the initial glossary of terms and Benjamin is getting started on the initial chapters. Its quite a beast to tame, but looking good at this stage!
Our friends over at Pulpfever have released the french version of Vampire City this week. The book features some additional writing as well as all-new artwork, see some previews below.
Here's what we've been up to lately, and how it mounts up for next year ... and beyond!
Development on the Match System is coming to an end. We're pretty much ready for beta testing (some of us are at it right now), all we need to do is to finish up the presentation--a basic layout, some additional writing, etc--and we're set. The Match System Guide will be made available for everyone again, with those who supported the Equinox Setting Guide getting it early as an update to their download package. (We're also considering to add a full setting+system book after everything's out of the beta stage--if you haven't already, get that support package--it's worth it already.) By the way--we intend to release the Match System rules under a Creative Commons license, so you can share and toy with it as you like.
Speaking of which, the Equinox Setting Guide will get all erratas and typos fixed, updated with some additional material and moved out of the beta stage as soon as the artwork is done. David Michael Wright has finished all sketches and has moved on to ink and color them. I don't actually expect them to be done by the end of this year, but its safe to expect the book in 2014.
Editing on the german translation of the Equinox Setting Guide is almost done. We're fixing some wording issues right now, and want to get the german version out at the same time we move the english version out of the beta. 2014 will be a good year for Equinox, it seems!
It's been around for a while, but we have finally started on illustrating and layouting Jeremiah Schwennen's Dark Places RPG. We dubbed it "Afterlife Mystery", and it fits into our growing selection of gamemasterless games (even though it is independent of the City system).
It's still early days, but we're looking into doing a scenario book for this game. Not sure if we'll have anything soon at the time of writing, but we're sure hoping! The german translation is still underway.
The french version of Vampire City is not far from release. The new artwork for this book is stunning--we're hoping to put up previews for you as soon as possible. We will beef up the english version with this as well, probably later next year.
Monsters & Magic
For our german readers, we've secured the translation rights for the Monsters & Magic RPG (released by Mindjammer Press). The translation is making good progress, we expect to add this book to our 2014 release list.
The german version of Jason Morningstar's Fiasco game is doing pretty well. We're a bit behind on our schedule to release the translation of the Fiasco Companion, but we're not far off either. Another release for 2014, hopefully in time for the RPC! Right along with this, we're intending to set up an open call for playsets sometime soon. We're intending to make a playset book of some sorts next year, so the open call will be the first step in that direction. More to come on this!
