The Equinox Setting Guide is a book of ideas, a condensed description of a much larger universe. This book presents the setting and background of Equinox, which you can use for a wide variety of things: as a game world for your favorite roleplaying game system, as inspiration for writing stories (or even a novel), for designing your own computer or board games, or just as a good read for spurring your imagination.

Because this book doesn’t contain any game mechanics (except for some general guidelines you might find useful for adapting the setting), you can adapt it easily as a backdrop for your favorite game system.

An Important Note on the Beta status!

This product is a very first release of the Equinox Setting Guide, and still in "beta" status. The text content is complete and usable, but missing the eye candy. Layout and artwork are being created, as are rules adaptions for various roleplaying game systems. These things take time, but we don't want to make people wait just for that. Our goal is to attract a wide and diverse group of playtesters and benefit from a wide range of opinions and points of view. Developing the game mechanics is one of the main things slowing us down. Designing, testing, and fleshing out the mechanics is a time-intensive process and is taking us a while longer to finish. Our time and resources being limited, we don't want to wait that long to actually release something for Equinox. Especially as the setting material has been pretty much ready for a while!

As a result, we decided to change a few things and get Equinox out sooner. The idea is to present just the core setting, its history, and as much background information as possible. You will be able to use the Equinox Setting Guide for a wide variety of things: as a game world for your favorite roleplaying game system, as inspiration for writing stories (or even a novel), for designing your own computer or board games, or just as a good read for spurring your imagination.

Valley of Eternity is a penguin roleplaying game about everyday heroes and fate as an outcast, reserved for those who are in any way different from their fellows. Inspired by western movies, Valley of Eternity features a bit of comedy with serious undertones.

Designed mostly for one-shot adventures, Valley of Eternity is a good entry-level roleplaying game with a simple setting and deep meaning.
